Course Offered: 'A' Level Diploma in Buddhist Studies
This Course is comprised of 5 Modules. Each module will be delivered in 45 hours of lectures over a period of 10 weeks. Teaching and learning methodology incorporates class lectures, reading and written assignments, class discussion and presentation. Students have to write an assignment of 1500 words and sit for a 3-hour written examination for the successful completion of each module.

to Early Mahāyāna

Module BSI: Buddhism, Society and the Individual

Module BPW: Buddhist Psychology and Wellbeing
Instructor: Ms Soong Wei Yean, MA in Buddhist Studies

Module HBI: History of Buddhism in India
Instructor: Ms Chiew Suan Bee, MA in Buddhist Studies

Two Types of Certificates will be awarded
1. 'A' Level Diploma in Buddhist Studies
Students who attain the required standard in the assessment of 5 modules will be awarded the 'A' Level Diploma in Buddhist Studies.

2. Certificate of Attendance in Buddhist Studies
Candidates who attend the full course but do not fulfill the required standard in the assessment will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance in Buddhist Studies.

Malaysian Route to the Masters in Buddhist Studies
Each year students will complete 5 Modules of Buddhist Studies
leading to the following awards.

Year 1: 'A' Level Diploma in Buddhist Studies
Year 2: Shastri Diploma in Buddhist Studies Level 1
Year 3: Shastri Diploma in Buddhist Studies Level 2
Year 4: Shastri Degree in Buddhist Studies

On the successful completion of this 4-year Course of Buddhist Studies,
students are eligible to enroll for the Masters in Buddhist Studies and further onto PhD in Buddhist Studies.

Who Should Attend:
Sangha members, leaders of Buddhist organisations, Sunday School teachers, Dharma teachers, school leavers interested in teaching Buddhism as a career, and everyone interested in cultivating wisdom and merit.

Early Bird Introductory Offer:
All fees paid will be fully reimbursed to students upon the successful completion of the 'A' Level Diploma in Buddhist Studies for students who register before 26 June 2017.

Sangha members are exempted from all module fees but required to deposit RM600 as Caution Money for the whole course.
This amount is fully refunded upon the successful completion of the course.
Sangha members are also required to provide reference letter from Monastery's Chief Abbot.
